From video-on-demand, video-enhanced e-learning, and learning material management, to self-service media portals and video library digitization projects, it would appear that video use is everywhere! Yet, while the proliferation of video assets across the enterprise continues at a rapid pace, the proper management of video files is still not well understood or put into practice. Video assets (both tape and digital) are often scattered across multiple departments, business units, office sites, and networks. Additionally, the enormous file sizes, multiple encoding formats, and digital rights associated with video often make managing, editing, and distributing video a challenge.
