North Plains Systems Receives More Industry Recognition as a Company that Matters Most In Knowledge Management
Recognition Correlates to Continued Innovation, Successful Deployments,
And 25 Percent Revenue Growth in 2010
Toronto, Canada – February 23, 2011 – North Plains Systems, Inc., the leading provider of Digital Asset Management, today announced it has been named one of KMWorld Magazine’s 100 Companies that Matter in Knowledge Management. This major second award in only two months reflects the innovation and significant growth achieved by North Plains in 2010.
Based on the breadth and impact of innovations to meet specific customer needs while adding true value to the entire chain of constituencies, KMWorld recognized North Plains in its list of 100 Companies that Matter in Knowledge Management. Each year, the list is compiled by knowledge management practitioners, theorists, analysts, vendors and their customers and colleagues.
“We are very excited about how 2011 is taking shape. After a successful 2010 we are at a tipping point where a game-changing strategy will reshape the industry for years to come,” said Hassan Kotob, President and CEO, North Plains Systems, Inc. “With two awards under our belt already, we are confident that Global 2000 companies will continue to turn to North Plains for innovative technologies in order to take greater control over their growing volume of rich media.”
North Plains experienced over 25 percent growth in 2010. The company doubled the number of digital asset management (DAM) customers in Europe, as well as deployed more than 30 customers across the pharmaceutical, manufacturing, automotive, retail, utilities/power generation, commercial banking, and non-profit industry segments. Some of these new customers include the 15th largest global pharmaceutical company, another big three U.S. car manufacturer, the largest UK bank, the largest U.S. non-profit for people over 50, and a private energy holding company.
In addition to strong growth, KMWorld recognized North Plains for its innovation and ability to provide value to customers, which included introduction of the industry’s first DAM-as-a-service (DaaS) offering that moved much of the knowledge management burden from companies to North Plains’ experts. This, in conjunction with North Plains' Software-as-a-Service (Saas) platform which doubled in revenue in 2010, has helped further accelerate the use of DAM across industries.
