North Plains Also Named Leader of Middleware Digital Asset Management at Market Engineering Leadership Awards

TORONTO, CANADA - June 6, 2003 - North Plains Systems, Inc., the innovator in Enterprise Digital Asset Management (E-DAM) solutions, was named Digital Asset Management Company of The Year by Frost & Sullivan in recognition of the Company's commitment towards its employees and customers by maintaining profitability and growth without compromising quality since 1994. During Frost & Sullivan's Market Engineering Leadership Awards, North Plains Systems was also named Market Share Leader of Middleware Digital Asset Management.

"Frost and Sullivan is proud to present North Plains Systems the Company of the Year Award, as the Company is considered one of the most respected Digital Asset Management companies by both customers and competitors," said Mukul Krishna, Digital Media Analyst at Frost & Sullivan. "North Plains Systems is not only one of the few profitable companies the DAM space, it also has one of the largest customer bases amongst all the market's vendors."

The Frost & Sullivan Market Engineering Award for Company of the Year is presented each year to the company that has demonstrated unparalleled excellence. The award is based on numerous factors including the company's business development, competitive strategy, and customer service leadership within a particular Frost & Sullivan Industry Research Group (IRG). North Plains Systems is perceived to exhibit outstanding management, consistent growth, high quality products and services as well as a positive social and economic impact on local and national communities. Superior customer service has been noted as crucial to success, coupled with the ability to combine technology and successful marketing. North Plains Systems has the exceptional expertise to take advantage of market changes by capturing and solidifying market presence, or through execution of innovative strategies within the existing competitive landscape.

"North Plains Systems has remained true to its mission of creating innovative technologies and commitment to its customers, enabling us to grow 50 percent while continuing to show profits for the fifth year in a row," said Hassan Kotob, president and CEO of North Plains Systems. "The unique architecture of TeleScopeT provides unparalleled scalability and measured ROI, which in turn, means successful deployments and ongoing growth for North Plains Systems."

The Frost & Sullivan Market Engineering Leadership Award is given to the company that has exhibited market share leadership through the implementation of market engineering strategy. According to Frost & Sullivan, North Plains Systems has displayed excellence in all areas of the Market Engineering process, including the identification of market challenges, drivers and restraints, as well as strategy development and methods of addressing these market dynamics. North Plains Systems' TeleScope solution is very robust and is one of the few products in the market with a truly enterprise-wide distributed architecture. TeleScope supports more than 300 different media types and formats.

"The success of North Plains Systems can largely be attributed to their product engineering and to their market penetration strategy," added Mukul Krishna, Industry Analyst Digital Media for Frost & Sullivan. "North Plains has stayed away from the niche strategy of concentration on a single vertical that many other players tried to adopt, and instead focused their efforts on selling a solution that could be customized for any client regardless of their vertical market."
