North Plains Systems' TeleScope Enterprise Solution Integrated with Adobe AlterCast
SEYBOLD SEMINARS, NEW YORK (BOOTH #319) - February 20, 2002 - North Plains Systems, Inc., the innovator in enterprise-class asset management solutions, announced today the integration of Adobe AlterCast with the TeleScope™ Enterprise file conversion framework. North Plains Systems is among the first full service enterprise-class asset management developers selected by Adobe Systems to support Adobe AlterCast imaging server software.
North Plains Systems' integration of AlterCast with TeleScope will enable TeleScope users to increase productivity by automating image manipulations and conversions. With Adobe AlterCast acting as an image-engine, TeleScope users can automate conversion options associated with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator products. For example, marketing professionals can easily request and receive Illustrator files as a simple JPEG or TIF, thereby extending the use of the creative asset and ultimately increasing the ROI of that asset. North Plains Systems used Adobe's XML-based Application Programming Interface (API) to design the seamless integration.
"The ability to dynamically convert image files into multiple formats for multiple purposes is a challenge the creative community has faced for years. The combination of TeleScope's powerful enterprise-class asset management capabilities with the AlterCast imaging engine solves that challenge," said Julie McEntee, director product management, Server Products Group at Adobe. "North Plains Systems' expertise, true enterprise solution and support for Adobe's product suite make them a compelling choice for customers."
The integration of third-party technologies such as AlterCast is made possible by North Plains Systems' TeleScope plug-in architecture, I-Piece Technology, which allows for the infinite extensibility, flexibility and customizability of the TeleScope asset management solution. TeleScope was also the first enterprise asset management solution fully integrated with Adobe Systems' XMP metadata standard in September 2001.
"TeleScope Enterprise was among the first to provide file conversion capabilities in the digital asset management marketplace. The addition of Adobe's AlterCast to our file conversion framework means our customers will truly have the most robust graphics conversion engine available with industry leading capabilities," said Steve Sauder, Chief Technology Officer, North Plains Systems.
The flexibility of TeleScope's architecture combined with its industry leading XML components gives users the tools they need to meet the challenges of business in the digital age. TeleScope enables production staff, vendors, partners, and consumers the ability to extract components of existing documents and dynamically generate new digital assets re-purposed for a wide variety of electronic and wireless delivery methods. Built on open standards and distributed architecture, TeleScope Enterprise offers a robust and open API that allows third-party technologies and legacy systems to seamlessly integrate into the TeleScope environment. TeleScope supports over 300 file formats ranging from graphics and text, to audio and video.
