TORONTO, CANADA - October 17, 2002 - North Plains Systems, Inc., the innovator in Enterprise Digital Asset Management (E-DAM) solutions, today announced the winners of the industry's first TeleScope Innovation Awards held at the Company's recent E-DAM 2002 Customer Summit: Creating the Future of Enterprise Digital Asset Management Together. The event, held September 9-10, 2002 in Emeryville, CA at the Ex'pression Center for New Media, was attended by top executives from the industry's leading entertainment studios, publishing and technology companies and industry-leading partners such as AOL, Boeing, Frankel, Harcourt, HarperCollins Publishers, Que-Net Media, Sony Electronics, Sony Pictures, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Universal Pictures and Warner Bros.
The awards were presented to North Plains Systems' customers who maximized the potential of their Enterprise Digital Asset Management deployment through TeleScope. Nominations were made by the Company's Professional Services Group and categories included: Agency, Prepress/Print, Multilingual, Video Assets and Audio Assets. KPMG Consulting and Sun Microsystems sponsored the awards and winners were selected by GISTICS, Inc., recognized to be the leading independent research firm for Digital Asset Management.
The criteria for nominations included three components. First, the solution had to be used in a true Enterprise environment, impacting multiple departments and different classes of users. Secondly, the solution needed to demonstrate some form of unique innovation, such as the development of a custom interface, I-Piece or integration with existing systems. And finally, the implementation needed to demonstrate a return on investment in which the solution paid for itself.
